Very strang thing happened. Installed a 400EC along with the ACS 6.0 Proc. Lines 1 thru 5 will display CID but line 6 will not. Checked configs even defaulted the system back to factory and still nothing. CID is sending when I move line 6 to another line port. COuld it be a bad port 6? I have never encounter a bad CID port before since port will provide dial tone and send adn recieve calls. Any ideas to late at night for me get another 400EC wonder if I did not program something?

I can think of 2 situations where caller ID data would not display on a telephone. There may be others, but these 2 come to mind.

1) If the auto attendant is programmed to answer incoming calls on 0 or 1 rings.

2) If a telephone line is set to delayed ring on stations, the caller ID info will not display.

Do any of the other lines with caller ID show up correctly if you connect them to the port in question?

If the answers are "No" to all of the above, then the port might be bad.

There are 2 daughter boards on the 400EC motherboard. Each daughter board handles 2 lines for caller ID. Open up the 400EC and make sure the connectors are secure from the daughter boards to the motherboard.

When I connect the line in question to ports 1 or 2 the line show the data. If I take a line that has been working form 1 or 2 and plug it into port 4 the data does not show so it sounds like the board.

I will open it up as suggested and check. These are Partner II 400EC's.

I have checked the delay suggestion and the answer is no to both questions.

I am going to bring out a spare and see if that clears up.

Well look at that. Brian was right. I opened it up and there are two small boards that were just hanging there with the pins disconnected. Plugged them back in and it worked just fine.

I see that they tried to place a wedge of foam under the boards but that did not seem to prevent this from happening. I looked at two other 400EC's and the same thing happened to them as well. I usually use 308EC's so this is the first time I have seen this. Design flaw I guess. Has Avaya addressed this in their 400EC revisions?

I'm not sure that the 400EC is still in production. [ponder]
