I can't seem to manage to set up a port so that it only listens on an assigned Vlan. I have 3 Vlans established (1,2 & 3). I want these vlans to remain seperate as I have router to handle communications between the subnets.

Example: I'd like FastE 4/37 - 48 to listen on vlan 2 and only vlan 2.

Thanks!

First, is the seitch setup to read the vlans:

#vtp
set vtp domain xxxxxxxx
set vtp mode client

Then for the ports:

set vlan 2 4/37-48

Whoops, Forgot to mention this is assuming this is not the root VLAN switch, since the 4006's don't have router modules unless you go to the Sup3 or the L3 Modules...

if you want 3 vlans you should make them 2-3-4 because 1 is the default on all ports and is used for management of switch.you have rsm or external router? sunets on each vlan, make switch server so you can modify vlans in client you cant modify them.good luck

Thanks for the help guys.

I have a SUP III, and got it up and running!
