Hi all,

I have a problem with a HP LaserJet 4000TN. Everyday (at least once) it will receive a job and the display on the printer will change to Processing Job and the data light will flash. The problem is that it does not actually print and any new jobs sent do not print. The only quick resolution I have at the moment is to turn it off and turn it back on again but this removes the job it was meant to be printing.

Please note this is a networked printer and all my other printers are fine. I also have other 4000TN’s and all of them are fine.

My initial thoughts are either a problem with the Jet Direct card or the network lead but I would like some other suggestions from you guys.

Thanks.

Have you tried pressing the Green button once or twice? That will force it to print what's pending in the print buffer.

I wonder if the print job didn't end with the usual page eject at the end of the job and so there's less than a page left over just waiting in the print buffer for the end-of-page code? Sometimes this happens with DOS printing and custom programs.

Thanks for your response. I will try pressing the Green Button next time this occurs and let you know what happens.

The usual prints that this printer is used for it PDF's, Access Reports and Word Documents.

Do you think a faulty JetDirect card could cause this problem?
