Hey,

I have a single PIII 500 proc in a netfinity 4000R. I took 2 650's from 2 other dual CPU 650 netfinity 4000R and tried to put them in this netfinity 4000R but it wont boot. Are there certain cpus that need to go into certain slots or is this a bios issue or something?

I dont get any kind of boot screen with the 650's in (even tried one at a time in each slot) but works fine with the 500.

any ideas?

thanks

Most models of the Netfinity 4000R do not support customer installation of adapters, HDDs, memory, processors, or any other devices that must be installed inside the server - These models do not support any modification to the original factory shipped configuration. The planar most likely does not have the required VRM to support the additional processor. It probably also requires a change to the core frequency setting for the different processor speed, which is why it works with the 500, but not the 650.
