We have a 400 running 3.5. Sometimes when we dial a call, it will act like its setting up, and then drop. We gathered this information below as well.

On the BCM at the following location:
\BCM\Diagnostics\Trunk Modules\Bus 07\Module 1\CSU Statistics\ I hav the following statistics: Error Free Percent: 92. Statistics Gathering Start Time: 2005 04 25 184759 (I reset the statistics yesterday after the testing).

At the following location:
\BCM\Diagnostics\Trunk Modules\Bus 07\Module 1\CSU Statistics\Performance Statistics\Current Interval: There are three error statistics: Errored Seconds (ES): Severely Errored Seconds (SES): Unavailable Seconds: (UAS):

The ES parameter continually updates over the 15 minute interval (900 seconds). At 200 seconds, I have 15 ES; at 631 seconds, I have 44 ES.

I ran a few ad-hoc tests calling out from the office. Each time I called out, I could see that the ES had incrimented by one ES. I did it a bunch of times to make sure it happened every time, and also checked to make sure that there were times that it did NOT update over intervals that I did not make an outgoing call.
In otherwords, every time I made an outgoing call, it incrimented by at least one, while many times it did not incriment at all when no calls were made.

is your clocking set to primary? It defaults to Master and that isn't good. It causes errored seconds. It should be primary.

Thanks for the reply. How do I get to the point where I check this? I have logged in as supervisor and browsed the tree. I didn't find the place where the DTI card was configured.

Go to Resources, Media Bay Modules, Bus 7, Modules on Bus, click on Module 1 and check the Clock Source. Defaults to Master, should be primary. If you change the clock source, the T-1 will be momentarily disabled. If it is already set to Primary, then check with your telco and have them do some line tests.

Thanks for the instructions. It was set to "master". It is now set to "primary". Appreciate the help.

This did it. No more errors, no more dropped outbound calls. Thanks for the assistance.
