I need to find a adapter or ribbon cable to take an old Quantum Hard Drive from a dead Mac with 40 pin connectors. What I need is a 40 Pin Female on one end to connect to the drive and the other end a 50 pin Female connector to connect to the secondary controller on the motherboard.
Helping out a friend recover data from the drive, but I work in the PC world and this MAC is driving me crazy. The old machine was so brittle is cracked and broke off in my hands when removing the drive.

Thanks

As a general rule 40 Pin is IDE and 50 pin is SCSI, so I am not sure you are on the right track, which Macintosh model did the drive come out of?

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
