4 pages on one (like FinePrint). Is it possible?

Hellol, all!
My question is :
Is it possible in Linux to print 2-4-8 pages on one?
I've seen such a tool 4 Windows - FinePrint.
Under Linux I know only a2ps. But the problem is: the documents, that I want to print are in *.pdf AND write-protected, so that I cannot use pdf2ps.
