Ok so i have MM 5.2 with a Windows based MAS integrated into CM via Session Manager.

The site has a mixture of 4 - 5 (currently 5 digit have no VM) extensions , the customer is going to upgrade to CM6 and is going to make all agent stations 6 digit with VM ,but keep the back office staff on 4 digit(pure stupidity and stubborness) , i know you can enable the multisite feature but that will not work (i think as we only have one physical pbx) , is there any way on a single site setup to have a mixture different mailbox lengths..... i think not but am no MM expert.

Using the session manager you should be able to manipulate a 2 site system. But I can tell you that multisite in MM is not all it should be. You could also setup a SIP gateway connected to a PRI out if the same PBX to simulate a second CM.

What they should do is move to Aura messaging as you can use site setup to make it work or variable length MB.

You may also be able to use the secondary ext number to make it integrate but the MWI would not work without SM conversion.

Ok i agree about Aura Messaging and that idea has already been proposed[banghead] ... but flatly refused , i am going to look at this idea of Session Manager any pointers or tips ??? will start with some adaptations .

Seems a bit odd that the customer would not look at Aura.By the time they pay for all of the labor to change the MM system (At least 20 hours) it may cost as much or more than installing a Aura. If they have SSU then the licenses are free.
