I'm using IE 5 on NT 4 Workstation (SP4) and was looking at my temporary internet files folder (cache) last night. I'm not online so I expected it to be pretty much blank as any pages I view in it are ones I've designed myself and are stored on my hard drive. However, I never expected to see what I did see... four folders, named cache 1, cache 2, cache 3 & cache4. Why is this? Each contained the same two files, I can't remember what they were called or what the file extensions were but they wern't HTML document, or cookies, or images!

Just curious why exactly this is the case?
