Hello everyone. Hope you can help. I have tried to compact a very large mail file on my notes server using Database Tools in the Administration, but the file doesn't appear to compact, e.g. the file size in Windows Explorer is 427,487 Kb size. I compact it and refresh Explorer and the file is the same size. (I'll be reviewing our policy on allowing mail files to grow!!)

I need to reclaim some precious disk space urgently, so many stars are on offer for successful replies.

Thank you....

Answered it myself! There is command that can be run from the Server Console that will compact all mail files, provided the user isn't logged on. If anyone wants the cmd, let me know.

Type command "Load Compact Mail\" at Server Console which compacts all mailfiles in Notes\Mail directory. Server console shows each mailfile as it is being compacted.
