Hello,

If Outlook Express 6 (Up to Date) is open during AutoUpdate task (used with incrementals updates), Explorer crash during update task (seems to be at VShield start).

Someone got an idea ?

ps: Win98SE Operating System

TIA

Since you didn't mention the version of VirusScan, i suggest you get the latest (4.5.1 for corporate and 6.02 for retail). Then get whatever SP or update is available on the website. These updates fixes that OE problem.

Check with the sales rep on getting a hotfix for this (HF14 IIRC).

Set the Advanced Security properties to "Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed."

Open the Internet applet from the control panel
Select the 'Advanced' tab
Scroll down to the 'Security' section
Click the check box to 'Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed'
Click 'OK'
You will need to empty the Empty Temporary Internet Files folder before the user will be able to use IE an outlook.

Open the Internet applet from the control panel
Click the 'Delete Files' button (also click the check box to remove off line content)
Click 'OK'
Click the 'Settings' button,
Click 'View Files'
Click file and choose 'Select All'
Click file and select 'Delete'
Click 'OK' to delete the cookie files.
Close the 'Temporary Internet Files' window
Click 'OK'

Try that anyways and uhhh hotfix14 was for netshield and this is virusscan??

also is it internet explorer or windows explorer

also you could try changing the path to a site that doesnt have the incremental updates forcing it to download the full updates

all this is just troubleshooting steps I have not seen that exact issue...
