I'm running NMS 4.15 on a NT4.0 box.
I went into the admin area of the server to change the options in the SMTP - ERROR tab.
In the ERROR tab it lists what to do when someone e-mails the server an address that does NOT match a local user.
I switched this to "Return message to sender".
The other 2 options are: "Send message to postmaster"
and "Log error.." etc
So I'm expecting when I send a non-user of the server an e-mail that I'll get a mail delivery error.
When I e-mail a message to an unknown user address and the sender is FROM the same server.. I get a mail delivery notification perfectly - Recipient not available.. etc. Which is what I want.
Now the confusion is when I send messages from other domains.. like AOL or yahoo or just about any other e-mail service.
Instead of getting an e-mail mail delivery notification error. I get the message sent returned. In the detail header information there is a blurb about Delivery Error. But to the end-user it just looks like you e-mailed yourself accidently.
Anyone help LOL It's something easy I know.. but I'm pulling my hair out.. and I don't have much left.
Thanks in advance,
Asi
