Hi, can we hook a 3rd party SIP server with CS1000E, Rls 5.0.
One of our site IT peoples was asking whether they can use a 3rd party SIP server to connect to our remote site and can use SIP phones (3rd part) to communicate with our office.
Is it possible with CS1000E rls 5??
If yes then can some body briefly elaborate?
Regards

Im experimenting with something similar. I am installing Asterisks PBX (open source) on its own server and linking it to my nortel via a few PRI cards, this way you should be able to use some or all of the features that * offers (free of course) the things im interested in are the web based conference bridge, SIP phones, and the voice mail (or IVR). No per channel licensing and its free. Like i said im just experimenting now, but its doable.

We've done this and it works extremely well. You'll need someone on the SIP side to do all of the programming on the ASTERISK Server - whiles its reasonably straight forward, it takes a little getting used to.
