Exchange Server handles Internal Mail, and 3rd Party handles POP/SMTP stuff.

when someone outside the company emails to
me@company.com, The mail is held at the 3rd party server.

The problem is that, when someone inside the exchange server emails me@company.com, the exchange server holds it so that remote users don't receive their intercompany mail.
Of course, when they're back inside the office and the log on to exchange, they get the mail.

What I want is for exchange to let mail addressed to the
@company.com domain to pass through.

Is the outside company "3rd Party" your ISP.
What kind of connection do you use to gain access to this 3rd party. If yes to question 1
do they have a MX record in their DNS that routes the mail to your Exchange server. If your connection is dedicated or dial up does it know where the exchange server is? IP address or NAT [sig][/sig]
