My pharmacy currently uses the nortel norstar cics phone system and a 3rd party IVR which is used for customers to refill prescriptions. The 3rd party IVR needs analog inputs from the phone system to work properly. How many ways can I make the IVR talk to the phone system? I did some research and found out that I might use analog terminal adapter (ATA) or nortel norstar voicemail interface (VMI) to make them work together, but I don't know if I'm in the right direction?

Suggest you ask the IVR people, they would tell you the "requirements" for their product and what/which is compatible.

Typically these IVRs connect on the phone line between the DMARC and the system CO input.
