My company would like to use sharepoint as a hub to track information between various departments.

Does anyone know how well Sharepoint integrates with software/sites like Salesforce and Seapines TestTrackPro??

On the trial version I can only see minor integration with other Office products and even that doesn't work well.

How well does Sharepoint handle issue tracking?

Any information would be helpful...thanks

The real question is: how open are packages like Salesforce to database queries? You could write .NET Web parts to bring info into SPS if the providing data source is open.

We created a custom Web part for "issue tracking", but it's more of a list than anything else. You'd have to custom-build something for functions such as alerting and aging. I don't know anything about TestTrackPro, but we use a purpose-built software package called TrackIT for issue tracking/resolution.

Once again, if your third-party apps have any kind of open database connectivity, you can mash something up in Sharepoint to aggregate the information.
