My understanding of the 3GB switch is that....
1. Without the switch applied half of the RAM is set aside for the windows Kernel and half for the User Memory.
2. If with 4GB of RAM, the 3GB Switch is applied. Only 1GB is set aside for the Windows Kernal and 3GB for the User Memory.
My question is what happens if I have 3 GB of RAM and set the /3GB Switch? Does the Kernel get 1GB or does the Kernel get 1/4 of 3GB?
Thanks,
Windows and NT Admin.
