The best example I can give is thinking of Clark Kent's job at The Daily Planet. Remember how the words "Daily Planet" were 3D and wrapped around the globe?

I have no problem giving text a raised effect using the blend tool or the 3D tool. How do I make it wrap with that sort of "daily planet" perspective?

(The text doesn't have to be wrapped around a globe by the way -- it's just to give you an idea of what I want to do).

I'm using Illustrator CS.

Use one of the Warp Effects/Filters

If you're just running around a shape, you can put the text on a path.
