Hello guys,

I am finding difficulty in having 3CX remote extensions cease trunks connected to the KX-TES824.

I have 4 Extensions from KX-TES824(EXT124,EXT123, EXT122 & EXT121) connected to the FXO ports of the Grandstream GXW4104.

Extensions-to-Extensions calls between the 3CX and the KX-TES824 are all fine - even the 3CX remote extension is able to call a desk phone back in the office connected to the KX-TES824.

However, my problem is how do i get an extension on the 3CX Phone system to pick up a CO Line connected on the KX-TES824?

I have tried setting up an outbound rule in the 3CX so i can send 9 to the KX-TES824 to pick up the line but it just rings continuously.

I am thinking if this fails then i will have to just get another Gateway to hook up trunks to the 3CX so remote & locals extensions can make outbound calls.

The phones on the 3CX Phone system are Cisco 7960 and on the KX-TES824, they are KX-TS500

I have not used Grandstream for some time.

Look in the "Channel Dialing" area.

Stage Method.

Try setting it to 2.

If I remember correctly, Stage Method 1 will just pass the number you dialed to the 824.

Stage Method 2 will return a dial tone to you from the 824 and allow you to dial additional digits.

You will need to make some changes in the 3cx.

Like a dial access code to get the the 824.

Thanks Billxx, i will try that.

I get the TES824 via its extensions connected to the Gateway - GXW4104

What exact changes will i need to make in the 3CX?

Thanks

You will need a 2 step process when calling from the 3cx to the 824.

Step 1:
In general terms, you will need to create a "Dial Access Code" (maybe 8) to connect to the Grandstream.

Then you should receive 824 Intercom Dial Tone.

Step 2:
You can then dial any extension or 9 for an outside call.

----------

I believe that your present setup will not allow an outside to be made is because the 3cx sends something like this in its Invite:
912125551212

The 824 receives this but there is no pause/delay between the 9 and the telephone number so the 824 cannot process it.

I don't think it is possible to include a pause in an Invite.

So the next best thing to do is to send an empty Invite and the Grandstream (using Stage Method 2) will connect to the 824 and return 824 Intercom dial tone to you.

I hope I explained this correctly.

Billxx, thanks alot!,

There is another issue.

When the call is made from the 3CX Phone system end via the GXW4108 to an extension on the panasonic, there is an immediate "CALL DETECTED i.e CONNECTED" and this is displayed on the 3CX Soft phone as a connected call as an answer supervision, therefore my billing system starts billing. This is is of course a False Answer Supervision (FAS). Any suggestions on how to resolve this matter? so that a call detected is only shown when a call is actually answered.

But what happens is the call is detected as answered before its actually answered and even continues to ring.

I cannot think of a solution.

Since the Grandstream is actually answering the call when used in the 2 Stage Method, the 3CX considers it as an Answered Call.

I will think about it and see if I come up with any ideas.
