I recently purchased a 3com access point 2000 off of ebay. it was brand new in the package however came without a power supply. im not sure if this is an option beings from what i have read this thing can be powered via power over ethernet.

i dont have power over ethernet.. so i neeed to find out what voltage this thing is running at. 3com data sheets have been usless so far.. anyone have any ideas

(just a thought.. i suppose that if it can be run off either dc or power over ethernet.. the voltages would be the same...?)

I can't find any document on this unit that indicates it can use POE. I'm assuming you've read the doc's on the 3com site. There is no mention there.

Also keep in mind you need a crossover ethernet cable to hook this to a hub/switch. If it's new, there should have been an "orange" patch(crossover) cord in the box.

hmm.. i must have browsed over a datasheet for a different unit. there are a couple that are roughly the same.

yes, i know about the crossover cable ;)

so.. any ideas on a voltage for the dc wall adapter? maybe someone knows someone that has one of these.. or a similar 3com product?

I have one tossed in a drawer at home. Will check this evening and repost...
