3Com Switch 1100 24 port. I have MAC, so how can i find if it has ip?

Hi,
I have the 3com 1100 3C16950. I know its MAC address, so I tried using this to sniff out the ip. Is it possible it has no assigned ip? How can i give it one, so I can manage it through browser on network?
