3Com SuperStack 1000 Diagnostic

G'day all, I have a 3Com SuperStack 1000 that, for some reason, not all the ports will link. I bought it pre-owned, and I do not know if the ports are turned off. Aside from getting into the switch, is there any way to tell if the port is dead or just turned off?

you will need to connect to the console port on the back of the unit with a VT100 emulator and look at the ports to see what they have been set at.

I hope you have the passwords?
