3Com SS 3300...console

I have a 3com SS 3300, unfortunately do not know the IP. I have no documentation from my predeccessor. This is the first 3com I've worked with, but have experience with Cisco equipment. Tried accessing through hyperterminal and crt with the following settings: 19200, 8, n, 1, xon
with no luck. When emulator connects it sits at a blank window. Is there any other way to access it, without the IP? Please help!

Hi

Use 2 of the Cisco DB 9's withe the roll-over cable.
Set the term as 9600,8,no par.

Press enter a number of times.

Follow the steps:

1. make sure that you are using null modem cable.
2. once u connect the cable from your switch to serial port of your PC, restart your PC after that(I found this several time, so it is better to plug the cable when pc is off, then turn it on).
3. In hyperterminal use the following settings:
19200, 8, None, 1, None(for flow control)
4. then use hyperterminal to connect. Enter serveral times to see the login screen.
