I recently purchased a slightly used 3com officeconnect isdn lan modem. It works fine on the pots lines and tests the isdn line just fine, but it will not connect to my internet provider. It dials, communicates and then I get a "clearing from far end error". In other words my provider hung up. I would say it is a provider error but my motorola bitsurfr pro and ascend pipline 75 connect just fine on the same line when installed. I feel like it may be some almost insignificant setting in the 3com but cannot figure it out. The 3com knowledge base is of no help. They point to the provider despite the other manufacturers units working fine. I just hope that someone else has encountered this and found the solution.
