3COM Dial Plan Please Help

I am new to the 3-COM world. I have worked on the nec IPK IVS And 2400 products for the last 6 years and now my boss just asked if i would go to school on the 3com, so I am still really green. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.


I have a customer that wants the main line to ring his hunt group (450) During the hours of 8am to 5:30 Pm and it does this works fine. From 5:31pm to 7:59am they would like it to 2 ring 2 times on ext 231 then go to the night greeting. Any help is greatly appreciated below is the dial plan there are many entries because the DIDS dont match the ext's nothing to fancy involved. It may be easier to copy and paste the dial plan to a text doc.

You way overthought this. Don't use the Dial plan to route the main number.

Go into the DLC or ALC (line card) that you main line is hooked to and go to modify. If it's a DLC you have to modify the Group.

Change the destiniations to the hunt groups for open and closed (two, one for day and one for night that rings twice and goes to the hg voicemail) **you can't have it ring an extension twice and then to that extensions V-mail unless you program that extension on only ever ring twice day or night**

Go to system settings and specify the business hours.
Then go into the dial plan and remove any manual routing you did there ONLY for the numbers you want to route using the default route you setup above. Think of it as; if you don't specify the destination in the dial plan it will failover to the default card setting based on TOD.
