3com and Gateway

Anybody have a problem installing a 3com 56K Model 3cxm556 model into a Gateway 9300 Pro series laptop.

This particular laptop comes with an internal modem. But when something happen and you lose the modem, it never works again so you have to buy modem card. I've never had success I've have with modem cards and this model. There's only one card (which has modem and LAN jacks) that seems to work.

You have to reset the gateway. Go to its website and there is a document telling u how to reset the gateway. But you need Null Serial Cable. If you don't have it, you have to buy it. If you don't want to buy it, then you can't fix it.
