Hi,

I have a few 3com AccessPoint antenna 3crwe747a in my compagnie. And the last IT manager went away with the password in his head!!
How do you reset the antenna to factory default so that the password would be comcomcom again.
I read everything on the 3com site and it's not documented.
There is no button on the antenna so no chance for "press xx while powering up" step.
It's sad that 3com forgot to document this.

Thanks you.

I'm in the same situation! I know the password is not the system default "comcomcom" but none of the 3com documentation explains how to recover from a lost password!

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

To dracut,

I can't help you on this one. I tried everything to have those dummbrain at 3com give me that simple information that SHOULD have been documented. But they kept asking me for 300$$$.
So I tried hacking the AP by shorting the db9 connector in every possible way (risking of damaging the ap). Didn't work.
I few weeks later (and a thousand password try!) I finally found the password and was able to get in!
If ANY ONE has that information, I urge you to put it on this site. 3Com made enough money as it is with this.
All my new AP's now are from Linksys and they work good with the old 3com's. I almost bought the nice Nortel AP but I didn't find in the documentation any memtion of a physical RESET button, so I scrapted that possibility :)
