I am trying to configure a 5500G switch out of the box, but I can not get the UTP connections (25-28) to work. The leds do not light up if I connect port 28 to a computer (using either cross or normal cable).

Does anyone know a solution using the console interface?

I believe the SFP slots are shutdown by default. connect to the console at 1900, 8 ,1, N. and type display current to see the current config. The ports are all MDIX so it shouldnt really matter what type of cable you use.

when you get to the port in question it will either say Shutdown or it wont. it it does not say shutdown, then it is not shutdown...but most likely, this is the issue.
