Hi,
I have a cisco 4232-L3 blade in a 4006 chassis that is currently connect to the 3COM 4924 via a 6 port blade(Switch Side). Currently all intra-vlan routing occurs within the Cisco and I would like to have the routing occur within the 3COM instead.
I currently have all the vlans setup and I think I have routing properly enabled on both the Cisco and 3COM. But if shutdown one of the interfaces on the Cisco then I can't see anything outside of my building. The Cisco is running eigrp and is supposed to be redistributing RIPv2 from the 3com. The Cisco is connected to anotter switch/router(Cisco 5500) using one of it's external router ports. The main question is how do I configure the Cisco and/or the 3COM to get everything working properly.
I am using different addresses on the same network for multiple vlans. For instance, on the Cisco, I have serveral vlans that are associated with a ip network. In this case the Cisco has an interface with xxx.xxx.a.1 and the 3com with xxx.xxx.a.2. The 3COM connects via the Layer2(6 port blade) side of the Cisco. The Cisco does have two external router ports one wich connects to the backbone with a separte default route(int g2/xxx.xxx.m.1).
Cisco 3COM
VLAN IP Network(Layer 3 Interface) VLAN IP Network(Layer 3 Interface)
a xxx.xxx.a.1 a xxx.xxx.a.2
b xxx.xxx.b.2 b xxx.xxx.b.1
c c

k xxx.xxx.k.1 k xxx.xxx.k.55
vlans/interfaces c-h are set on the Cisco side but not on the 3COM side as of yet.
Cisco Router has defult route of xxx.xxx.m.1, the Layer 2 side has xxx.xxx.k.1
3COM router has defualt route/gateway xxx.xxx.k.1
Thanks for any assistance
