Hello all,

I have a 3Com 7750 that I have configured 2 new VLAN's on and they work at that switch. I even have a server that can communicate on the network that is directly connected to that switch.

I also have a 3Com 4500 that is connected to another 3Com 4500 (which this switch is in turn connected to the 7750 via fiber). I have added the new VLAN's to the last 4500 switch, however I can not ping the default gateway (which resides on the 7750). Even though the switch between my last 4500 and the 7750 has ports set up for trunk type, and they permit all VLAN's, do I need to also set up the new VLAN's on the middle switch in order to talk back to the 7750?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you need to add all the appropriate VLAN stuff on all the switches connected, which will be carrying VLAN traffic. Otherwise, things like this happen when you leave them out.
