hi,

I have the following configuration:

3com 4924, 4500 and 3226 with 4 VLAN's

the 3226 has as default gateway the address of the 4924

when I give the 4500 it's IP address (172.16.11.12 /22), I give the following command

system-view
interface vlan-interface 1
ip address 172.16.11.12 255.255.252.0

now, my question is: how can I give this switch it's default gateway ?

I haven't found any command that allows me to do that, and I don't think that the switch will find it's default gateway by itself ?

Read the manual.... You would have found this....

ip route-static 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 <IP.OF.DEFAULT.GATEWAY>

Or you could have used the web GUI.

Have fun! [afro2]

yeah, I know, I found back the manual :)

it was a stupid question, I worked very late and just looked over it

thx anyway
