I looking for help setting up a VLAN on a 3com 2824-sfp switch. I am wanting to setup a access point for anyone to access the internet. Also, restricting them from office computers. I was told a Vlan setup would be a good choice for this?

When I make VLAN 1 and VLan2, I have a hard time getting both to access the WAN at the same time. Any ideas?

modem>router>managed switch everything goes into the switch. The router goes into the managed switch on port 2, access point I have oone port 24.

How do I get both VLans to go out to the router>modem WAN

Not having much luck finding 3com forums..

Each VLAN is an IP subnet.

Each subnet needs a default gateway, or it can't be routed.

The router presumably has the default gateways for each subnet on it, each on its own VLAN interface.
Both the VLANs need to be trunked between the router and the switch - in other words your switch uplink interface needs both VLANs assigned to it, and the corresponding interface on the router also.
