3903 Callers List 2

I have seen a thread here and a few elsewhere regarding clearing the callers list password on an M3903 but I have not seen a definitive answer (at least one that works on an 11c running 25.40b). The standard response is LD 32, CPWD TN and that resets the password to 12345678. The problem is that this does not work on our system/phone. I have seen a suggestion to set the key to NUL but this of course only takes it out of mind and does not provide the desired functionality. Is there anyone who can shed a little light on this dilemma? By the way the F/W in the 3903 is version 8.0. By the way we have another 3903 at the same version and it has never wanted a pw.

Yeah, those caller list passwords can be a pain in the posterior. The password is not activated by default, the user had to activate it on the phone.

You probably have already done this, but make sure your firmware on the phone, matches the level in the PBX by doing a FWUV command in either LD 20 or 32. If they do match, you may need to upgrade your core firmware in the PBX and then upgrade the firmware in the phones to get the CPWD command to work. Just a thought, hope it helps.

Thanks. I had flashed the phone after putting it in service and the password problem appeared. After I used LD 32 cpwd to clear it it still didn't take the 12345678 default. So I reflashed it, did the cpwd and then the password disappeared. At least it's gone.

On the M3900 Phase 3 sets the Directory password is cleared...NOT reset to 12345678. Why didn't you know that JohnPoole??

How do you load the new firmware to a 3903 set, I have been getting errors err5575 on the set.
