I've seen this on a few different servers and I have no clue what's causing it. Alongside the standard 3700d.log file, there will also be a file named 3700dLocal1.xml that looks like it's getting most of the log file updates. As an example, I just rotated the log and now I'm currently looking at a 3700d.log file of 1kb, but there's a 3700dLocal1.xml file that's increasing in size. Sometimes there will even be a 3700dLocal2.xml file as well.

Does anyone know what causes the log to split like this, and how to resolve it? The specific server I'm looking at is on Micros 3700 5.5 MR3. They're still using a HDD and I will be pitching them an upgrade soon.
