so we have an accounting department that is frequently in transaction analyzer and on our old server is was slow but manageable, now we have moved Micros to our VM environment and upgraded from Res 5.5 to 5.6 and transaction analyzer seems even slower. now doing some investigation it does peg the CPU on 1 core of the 8 cores that I give the system, is sybase stuck to using just 1 CPU core? I did go from a 3.2ghz to a 2.5ghz but on much newer hardware and the core count has improved, I hope I did not downgrade my server by upgrading it...? any speed up tips for Transaction analyzer?

Hi Darren,
Don't think there is much you can do. Is just the app it self that is slow.
I currently just upgraded a site to 5.6 and they are using the analyzer and is slow. And I have compared the speed with older system and is the same thing.
On this site I have a Xeon 3Ghz with 32G of Ram virtual.
Don't really see why accounts are using the analyzer so much. I think that the Checks and Journals should be enough to track down anything. Might be just that they need training.

we reran cal on a couple of accountant pc here, increased the speed 10x.
