3640 auto shut down after new E&M card pluged in.

IOS (tm) 3600 Software (C3640-IS-M), Version 11.3(4)T1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
MY Cicso 3640 auto shut down after pluged E&M card (VIC 2E&M). Is there are hardware problem ?

You have the mimimum IOS level so I would guess either a subtle problem with the IOS or like you think, a hardware issue. Why 11.3? Why not take to 12.x?

Start with 12.0.3 version. lower version may crash the router. I also absorved if you are running T ver of OS. you may get the crash

This is the first time I try to config the router.
Could you tell me how can I upgrade the IOS software?
Where can I get the new version on it?
If necessary, please tell me more about the IOS upgrade since I didn't do the such upgrade before.

Hi,
Sorry for missing "Not" in my earlier statement.
You should load a T image.
Processes of upgrading the Image is simple.
1. Download the requied image from CISCO or Order it. You need CCO login to access the Download site.
2. Login into the router in EXEC mode i.e enable Mode.
3. Type following command.
copy tftp flash
follow the instruction.
You need a tftp server and put the downloaded image into it.
after the image loaded either power cycle the system or type Reload at he Console.

I had a problem on a 3660 router running E&M. I resolved the problem by upgrading
to 12.1 . You need to upgrade !!!

But I am looking for the new version of IOS image.On the FTP site .... I have search around but still can't find it..(only CCO can download? ... what is CCO ? ~_~)

By the way, if any one have more information or URL link. Please kindly tell me.
