Im trying to recover a 35G phones with SIP software. The phone was plugged into an openscape HFA system, and then started downloading files. It then went to restart but stuck on the boot display.

Ive got DERT with SIP V3 R3 17.0

it loads the netboot-legacy.sci file ok

but "starting netboot-legacy.sci" fails

Netboot Status is:

DHCP: OK
TFTP: OK
EXEC: No valid update script!
Netboot failed!

You probably used .sci file from other firmware version, you must use files (.cfg .ini .csi) for version V3R3.33... :

netboot-legacy-noudata.cfg
netboot-legacy-noudata.ini
netboot-legacy-noudata.sci
netboot-legacy.cfg
netboot-legacy.ini
netboot-legacy.sci
netboot-update.cfg
netboot-update.ini
netboot-update.sci
netboot-we2.cfg
netboot-we2.ini
netboot-we2.sci

OpenTFTPServerMT.exe
OpenTFTPServerMT.ini
tftpd32.chm
tftpd32.exe
tftpd32.ini
V3R3.17.0000.SIP.HI.nbi
V3R3.17.0000.SIP.LO.nbi
V3R3.33.0000.SIP.LO.nbi

DERT should have everything it needs in the package. Did you try to execute the process a second time?

One other thing I would check i the release notes. Some of the firmware versions do not yet support the "fancy new phones" and you might have a version that works fine on opendate phones but not those new desk set phones. It may be possible there is not yet a DERT tool that has firmware compatible with that phone and you may have to wait for a bit, find another way to load it - like maybe? off a USB stick. That way you can grab the correct firmware version and use it exclusive of DERT.

I guess have a read of the release notes fo that version to see if it supports that phone would be the first step....

OK, DERT 0V1R0.2.0 HFA V3 R0.18.0 states that it supports the 35G eco on this release when you install DERT, but fails to load the netboot-legacey.sci

Maybe it's bricked bad enough that it actually needs to be sent in. Do you have another one you can try the process on to see if it's not you but really IS a bad phone?
