I am having an issue while trying to configure a new network. My switch cannot ping interfaces. I have set a management native VLAN as 99 on my switch (192.168.99.2), my 2811 router (192.168.99.1) and my 1242 access point (192.168.99.3), and set my trunking ports with native VLAN 99 between the AP and the switch, and the switch and the router - my access point is the only device I can ping from the switch. My VLAN 20 is for desktop computers and printers, and from a computer I can ping a networked printer fine, so the actual VLAN's and DHCP pools do work.

Right now, I am attempting to get a network connection from wireless laptops in VLAN 21 through the AP - the issue is the AP is not talking through the switch to the subinterfaces on the router, and so the computer cannot get DHCP or connect. Can anyone suggest anything? I can post configs if needed.

Thanks!

Hi,
You will need to ensure your vlans are propagated to the radio interfaces of the ap and the correct encapsulation set for the Ethernet sub interfaces. Also ensure ip helper is set.
The first thing to do is ensure your wired network is working fine. To do this I would set a switch port to vlan21 and connect an Ethernet cable to the laptop from this port as a test. If this works, okay then look over the configuration on your ap again. You will need to post the configuration of the ap so that we may help further.
