Just checked MOL, 3300ICP Rel. 8UR3 (8.0.9.18) is available for download. Lots of good new stuff, cluster size is now expandable to 999 nodes, Corporate Directory and Remote Telephone Directory now scale to 64,000 entries, and they've improved the Maintance Commands interface to auto-complete and show you available command options.

There's 2 new COS options relating to the Phonebook feature; these let you set the default search to the set's location code only, and then retry the search using the entire TelDir. Also, the display will alternate between the match and their location code, helpful for finding users with similar names in different locations.

I've also been told there's some improvements to SDS that speed up data access and reduce the problems some of us have been having with it.

The corresponding EMan/OpsManager releases (4.0.3.5 and 7.6.3.7) are available as well.

Did the fix for the SX2K backups failing (DPAR 214866) get rolled into this new Ops Mgr build ?

I believe it did. I'm still testing in my lab setup, I'll holler if it's still broken.

Just checked the Release Notes on the new version (4.0.3.5/7.6.3.7), looks like this is delivered as a fix on DPAR 206627, don't know if that's the same issue as you're having.

Thanks.
Don't recognize that one. The prob was backups were failing to complete on SX2K platforms. The job would appear to run all the way through but then at the last minute it would fail to TAR the individual files. Guess I could go get the RN and read it myself. ;-)

MIMB,
Did you ever find out if your bug is fixed in the latest OpsMan release (7.6.3.7)? I just upgraded my production network to this release last night, running a test on the 4 2K's here right now.

It's not fixed.

Works better with UR3, but still skipping some occasional backups, just about every other day but not consistently or predictably and not from every 2k site. Weird. Still trying to nail down a pattern. Doesn't seem to make a difference which side is active. Run 3 or 4 sequential backups from the same site within 15 min of each other and almost guaranteed at least 1 will fail. From server application logs the fail reason looks identical to when it was failing all the time.

To prove it set it up to pull a backup from every 2K site every night then after a week or so go into OPS utility tab/restore and look at your afailable dates for each site.

you're right, I've run a handful of backups over the last couple of days and still getting intermittent failures, though at a much lower rate than before at least.

Must be part of the software engineers' job security plan.

Using VISTA, I can't access to help file (reachable from others stations)...
Do you have the same ?

Now, it's about French users too !!!

Are popups disabled?

You probably will need to add the site to your trusted sites and open up some of the security to run ActiveX Scripts.

Occam's Razor - All things being equal, the simplest solution is the right one.

Lundah[/u try something for me. Try schedulling all of your 2K backups to kick off separately (separate schedules), but set 'em to go 1 right after another, 5 minutes apart. Think mebbe onto something here.

Help access is now solved...without any change...weird

Enjoy

Now, it's about French users too !!!

MIMB,
Tried all 4 backups individually, 5 minutes apart. First one failed, the other 3 completed ok.

Try individual schedules, 1 for each 2K and set them to run at 15 min. intervals. This seems to be working for me
