We have a 3300 running Mitel Communications Director v6. The phones are 5320 Ip phones, or 5330e. When a call comes in, if I'm already on a call, you get a very brief ring to tell you there's another call. Is there a way to get the call to display the caller ID of that call, so I could know whether it's worth putting the current caller on hold to take that call? My 3Com VOIP system did this 10 years ago, we got rid of it only because HP bought 3com and discontinued the product, and after 5 years was no longer supporting the system.

While I'm at it, a somewhat related question, but not entirely. The last call that came in displays on the LCD panel, but I can't find any button to push to call that party back if I wasn't at my desk to take the call. That would be pretty handy when playing phone tag with someone. Is there a way to call that party back without dialing the whole number?

Do any of these features exist if I upgrade to v7?

There is a COS option to display Caller ID on multicall lines

If you set the Multicall to ring continuous it will ring normally instead of burst ring

Call History (available under Blue key) should provide ability to call back. You may need to program the prefix digit(s) in the system options form.

Thanks! I found the COS option and set it, it works great. Didn't see where you set multicall to ring continuous, but I'm happy with the brief ring if I can look over at the phone and see who's calling.

I know how to use call history, but it's kind of lame to have to hit three or four keys to make a call when the number is staring me in the face. There's no button you can hit that calls back the last number that called you, kind of like *69?

There is a key to dial the last outbound number. This is the only thing that I know that would show in the display. (Not an inbound)

That key is to right of the X key with 123.... on it.

For the ring Continuous that is in the key programming. You have 5 ringing options for the key

I've uploaded a picture of what my display looks like after a call comes in, I hope this works. Sorry it's not very clear, but it's a box that shows you the name, number, and time the call came in. I enabled that on the phone in grey button, settings, call notification, display call info.

Ah, yes I wasn't thinking about that.

I don't use that feature personally and I don't have a system handy to play with. Sorry
