Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I'm doing my first 3300 install after taking the I&M class over 6 months ago.

I'm doing an install where a 3300 is replacing a Telrad system and the customer does not want to change any of the numbering.

There are about 100 rooms with analog extensions and DID's. For some reason on the Telrad, the extensions don't match the DID's. How do I assign a DID to an analog extension when the numbers are different?

I appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Use the system speed call form. This will allow you to insert the DID and it's associated DN.

ktludwig if I'm right and you found this helpful would you click on the link to say so.

Rob, of course your right.

I've been using that technique for years.

I would have been more clear in my description though.

A clearer description would be:

Create a new speedcall where the Speed dial digits match in inbound digits and make the actual digits dialed match the extension # of the destination.

Thank you, guys.

I've got it programmed and will assume that it works. The cutover isn't for a couple of weeks.

One other thing to note:

The speeddial digits must match the incoming digits AFTER digit modification via the trunk service assignment.

The trunk service assignment can absorb and insert digits before the digits are presented to the system. This is another method to modify the digits but it applies to all calls and not specific DID's.
