I have a newly-deployed MX3 running 10.0.1.23 (MCD 4.0/SP1). Our numbering plan is 4 digits. During commissioning we notice that the auto att. isn't working. We can dial by name OK but if you attempt to dial an extension directly from the AA, say extn 1234, the AA will truncate this and attempt to transfer you to ext 234. It's losing the 1st digit. Anyone else?

My first guess is that the VM is set to 3 digit mailbox length.

Second guess is that allow dial any extension is enabled and the digit 1 is restricted.

Third guess is it doesn't process the digit 1 very well. What happens if you dial 1231 (expected result being 231)

4th guess is you have a single digit MB #1 and this is somehow affecting the call (should wait for more digits but maybe something is wrng with the timer)

Sorry, I may have misled you a little bit with over generalization. The problem is 4-digit extensions beginning with the digit "8" i.e., 8456.

The problem - while not immediately obvious - turned out to be a digit conflict with the leading digit "8" which Mitel uses to select the language prompt on EMEM. So the fix is to change the language prompt digit to something that does not conflict with your leading digit in your numbering plan.

Tnx went to Mitel PS for reminding us of this one.
