3300 Outbound Name display 1

Yes, I could probably take a couple of hours and figure this out for myself. But, I'm hoping someone else has already done the legwork and would like a star for their efforts.

System type is 3300 and SW rev is current.

I'm looking for the ability to send a different calling name based upon key selection. I've heard rumors that this is possible with a 3300 but I haven't worked out the details.

Basically, have 1 Keyline named Company ABC send that name and have another Keyline Named MyOtherName send that name.

I need the capability of more than 2 alternate names. Has anyone done this???

i had an insurance company that we did this for a while back. they needed thier claims side to be seperate from the sales side...

1st what we had to do was call the telco and change the CID name on telephone number 1 to abc insuance claims and change/set telephone number 2 with abc insurance sales.

All claims employess have the claims CID outpulse when the make the call from thier prime line, these employees all have a Key Line assigned to button 8 of thier phone. This key line is setup with CPN substitution for the sales line.

cknipe, Currently the Telco in my region will not provide name on NI-1, and NI-2 is problematic for several reasons.

Suffice it to say, your solution will not work for me.

I specifically remember a post quite some time back (can't find it) where the poster claimed the ability to output the name associated with a key line from the Tel Dir.

I would be very interested to know if this is actually possible. Might actually have to roll up my sleeves and figure it out.

I send out three different CLIDs from my phone.
using my prime sends our company main number
using a single line non-prime key unique to my phone, sends my DID
using a non-prime key shared among all techs phones, sends the 'techline' clid.
you simply need Non-Prime Public Network Identity enabled in your COS

we also change the outgoing name by using COS option Calling Party Name Substitution which uses the Department entry from the Teldir (which is only 10 digits). this may be telco allowed dependant, I have not tried putting a teldir name on a non-prime extension, that I can remember, so not sure about doing both things at the same time.
I will try on Monday and let you know.

I'm looking to send name based on key, not number, but this is the right direction.

If you have the time I would appreciate it as my PRI in my lab is in use elsewhere at the moment.

it only sends the department name of the prime. I have three different CLID's sent, but the name in each case is the prime's department name. I even used an ONS port and put a keyline of it on my phone, used the same COS as my phone, still only the prime's name sent.
close, but not exactly what you were looking for.

I've got my PRI back and I'm having difficulty getting the system to send Calling Number based on Non-Prime DN.

It will send a Default Number if the Prime DN is not found in the DID/CPN tables

It will send the CPN translation number if the Prime DN is found.

I've programmed the Non-Prime Network Identity option against both the phone's and the trunk's COS.

I am obviously missing something but what??

We have an NSU so my CPN substitution has been in the IMAT programming. not sure if that would be making a difference.
I assume you have put the non-primes DN in the CPN translation table?
 
Yes the Non-Prime is in the table, and the table has been activated.

I even tried making an non-prime key system appearance of a prime elsewhere. Calling from the other phone, caller ID is as expected. From the Non-Prime appearance, not.

I can't imagine that this is hardware specific. (NSU vs. Embedded)

What can you tell me about that "Techline"
Keysystem, Multicall or ???
Does it have a Prime apprearance anywhere in the system?

techline is a non-prime keysystem on 6 phones and 3 hot desk users.
my outgoing was a non-prime single line, but changed it to a keyline of a ONS port to test the outgoing name for you. the outgoing caller id matched the key selected in both cases.
we are sending {000} in the modified digit table.(call by call as opposed to fixed), if that might make a difference.
Our main telco here only allows us to send outgoing CLID that is one of our phone numbers. I assume that you have thought of that.
we are DMS-100 NI1 if that makes a difference.

Unfortunately, nothing new that I haven't thought of.

The only apparent difference is the NSU vs. Embedded.

I'm running on a recent load of 9.0

Would you be willing to export and share your COS table? I'm starting to think something is conflicting.

If not, I think I'm stumped.

I imported the COS's you provided (minus a couple of options I don't have) and it still won't send the caller ID associated with the DN of a non-prime key.

Starting to look like the NSU vs. Embedded might be the answer.

Regardless, you've been more than helpful and deserve a star just for trying.

I'll try to find time to activate using an NSU and update then.

I wouldn't have thought the nsu vs embedded would have done it either.
I will try it the next time I have an embedded system where the telco allows different outgoing CLIDs
