Hi All

I've been asked to look at trying to do something with our Mitel 3300 and although I have extensive experience on the Norstar...I'm a bit lost when it comes to this thing. :)

Here's the scoop. Tell me if it's doable and how.

-We have a Universal NSU with 2 T1's, a Controller and a Universal Analog unit as well. What I need to do is setup the T1 (L0) to act as a line side T1 and connect it to a telephony board. First of all...is this at all possible? If so, how can it be done.

Outcome? We want to be able to call into this PBX (from the other T1 (L1) or Analog side...doesn't matter really and then hit the telephony board as if it was an extension off the "Line Side T1". Once in there...transfer back to an extension off the PBX (5020IP phone). Sound like a pipe dream? I know but I've done this numerous times on Meridians and it's rather simple but I have never attempted on this particular beast nor do I have much experience with it. :)

Any help appreciated.

TIA

Why? I can't figure out for the life of me why you would want to do that? Why not just use the included auto attendant.

I figured on such a response. :) lol.

I know it seems rather bizarre but in any event...it's for testing transfers on a particular piece of hardware. It has nothing to do with maintaining the switch in this capacity. We simply have the switch at our disposal and want to utilize (if at all possible) for this particular test. If I could do it on any other piece of equipment we have I would but none is available right now. We do have a T1 simulator so getting a CO connection to the thing is not an issue.

Thanks for replying.

Just setup the T1 as an msdn link set one as signalling address a and one as address b program the appropriate descriptors and your a go secondly you can program one as a qsig master second as a qsig slave, and finally you can make on network side master and one as a regular PRI this will act as telco and a pbx pri.

And for the record, Mitel does not support "Line side T1" - That's pretty much Nortel M1 territory.

You can fake it with an E&M T1 wired into a channel bank with FXS/FXO cards which in turn are connected to a like number of analog station lines. That's a big waste of resources if you ask me.

We did this once to do an analog tie-in into a TURRET system, but once we showed the client we could do Q.SIG integration between the Mitel and the Turret system all interest in doing line side T1 vanished.
