Greetings my Guru's,

I have a Mitel 3300LX Rel 9.03.29 system using embedded voicemail (20 ports); digital and analog sets only.
Customer doesn't want to check for messages every morning for the General Deliver mailbox (GD), so they requested a MWI on a set next to the reception. Currently the GD is used only on night service, all calls are directed to GD after 4:30PM.

Customer is using a SC1000 as front receptionist set(extn200). Installed digital set(extn779). Main lines are located on LDN key, dial 0 is a speed dial to 780 LDN key.

Thought I could use the Message Waiting Indicator of mailbox 0 to digital set(extn779), but never saw any change on set. (thought the simplest solution is the correct one.. but no)
I then tried creating a call reroute -> analog set (which is call forwarded) -> Name tag Hunt group 0 -> Call reroute to VM -> Key on 779, but that didn't work. Couldn't make a Hunt group 0 and have dial 0 end points.

Thought I could get rid of MB 0 and force callers to extn779 MB to have MWI flash on set. I found out that in night mode, created call reroute always to VM of 779, but dial 0 didn't follow call reroute on the SC1000, redirected all calls to original GD 0 MB.

Any ideas on this software level that I can try to activate MWI on digital set would be great.
Thanks All.

You cannot have message waiting indicators associated with single digit mailboxes.

The mailbox digits must match the digit length set up in your system.

That's what I thought KWB... so I have 0 ring the console during the day on LDN key, and created a new call reroute always (4) to 779 which is permanently call forwarded to voicemail. Thinking I can make a MWI on digital extn779.

I then call reroute 0 to go to 1 day mode (ring console only), changed Night 1 to reroute to 4 (forward to 779 voicemail) but calls still went to GD 0, not my 779 mailbox.

When I change day mode to go reroute to 4 (straight to 779 mailbox) all calls go to 779 mailbox. But in night mode all calls still go to GD 0.

Thanks

All Mitel's retain the original dialled digits for integration regardless of the hops in between.

If Zero is called then forwards to 779 then to VM then the integration will be with Zero not 779.

There are ways to force the issue as long as the end point (GD) is the final destination.
- Create a hunt Group *779 (yes with the star in front)
- Make it a nametag huntgroup
- Designate *779 as the Night reroute point for Zero
- Route *779 to VM always
- Leave 779 as an active DN (Prime or Non-Prime does not matter)

Alternatively, have you considered using email notification?

Excellent, Thanks KWB. I'll give that a try, customer is 2 hours away from me.
I tried another name tag hunt group without success, but I think you nailed it on the head with your description above.

I'll post my finds later down the week.

Hey Bud, Sorry I didn't notice the tagline before now. Just doin my thing...
