Hi all,

Hope my question above an user explanation below makes sense.

Here is what the user wants to do:

"If a caller calls in on my bosses line, and I answer the call from the phone on my desk, and the caller then decides after talking with me that he wants to leave my boss a voicemail message, when I try to transfer the call to my vosses extension, I get a busy signal and am unable to transfer the call.
So then the caller has to hang up and call back, and then I don't answer the call so it can go to my bosses voicemail.
Is there any way you can make it so that I can transfer that caller directly into Kurt's voicemail, without the caller having to hang up and call back?"

Background:

If not apparent - the user above has a "Key System" type Multiline Set Key Assignment that she can answer to pickup her boss' phone calls.

How can she forward from that Key assign to that same Key Assign's VM?

Make sense? If not please advise of more details.
Thanks!

Method 1-
Instead of transfering back to the bosses line, transfer to the voicemail huntgroup and dial Appropriate digits to leave a direct message e.g. #+ext

Method 2-
Create direct to voicemail routing extensions and route these directly to VM. (phantom keylines or hunt groups).
e.g. Bosses extension is 1234. Create Huntgroup #1234 (# is part of extension) and route #1234 to vm. Any calls transfered to #1234 will answer with 1234's VM greeting.

Hi KwbMitel,

Thanks for the two options.
I used option #1 - transferred the incoming call to our speed dial for Hunt Group # for VM.
Then used the folling steps.

Details:
1. Press Trans/Conf then dial 33(VM).
2. Press # + Extension(5863).
3. Press Trans/Conf to release and allow caller leave message/VM.
4. Press Cancel or Hang up phone if still connected or Third Party Conf is enabled.
5. Outside caller can leave mesg and additonal options for leaving VM are presented to the transferred user.

Not sure if this test was accurate enough but here is what we did:

I played the secretary and had a fellow employee call me from outside on his phone.

When testing with him I was still connected as a third party - but I just hang up after the transfer.

I assume that this is normal with transferring calls - being a third party until the first transfer point hangs up, right?

Else, seems to work fine.
I appreciate the quick help!

The second press of the Trans/Conf key is not required.

Just hang-up after dialing digits for direct access the MB and the caller will be connected.

MIMB - I never refer to the FAQ because I thought it was wrong to instruct users to use the * instead of the # as I always use.

As it turns out, they both work. Cool,...and unexpected.

Be careful when setting DNs prefixed with a # or a * as they might conflict with your existing feature access code list.
