Greetings,

We have recently installed a 3300.

We have the 3300, v8UR2 software, 6 incoming analog lines that are first answered by an auto-attendant. We have 5330, 5340 and 5224 IP phones.

As I'm reading through the documentation, I understand that the system support a different ring cadence depending on if the source call is an internal call or a trunk call. This was a nice feature of our older system.

So, my first question. Are my IP phones able to support a discriminatingly ring based on an internal or external call?

Today no matter if the call source from our analog trunk lines or local extension, the ring cadence is always consistent with the "internal ring" cadence.

the only options I have found relative to this feature are:

"ONS/OPS Internal Ring Cadence for External Callers" -- this is set to No, but I don't think this applies to my IP Phones.

"Ring Cadence for Tie Line Calls" -- this is set to Extneral, but I don't think it applies.

"External Trunk Standard Ringback" -- this is set to No on all classes.

Any hints would be appreciated.

Stephen

I believe your issue is with the autoatt. The call is being transfered from an internal source and will ring accordingly.

If the trunk was direct terminated to the station you would get external ring cadence.

You may get external ring cadence if the VM does a blind transfer but I'm not sure.
