Hi all,

I know incoming display of calling party number works with isdn, which I have implemented many many times beofre on a 3300. But never, until now, be asked to set up on analogue lines.

Has anyone implemented / got working through analogue lines attached to embedded lg/gs ports on a mitel 3300.

I have recently installed a 3300 at a green field site (Actually replaced four dect handsets attached to individual pstn lines with a proper system!!!).

The dect handsets recieved and displayed calling party ID on lcd displays and customer wants the same with mitel handsets (fair request).

I have fiddled with class of service settings in relation to ANI/DNIS etc but had no luck thus far.

Jakt99 - I am faced with the identical challenge, identical experience and to add insult to injury, Mitel DECT handsets behind a 3300 running MCD 4.1.

My system also replaced a previous system that displayed the CLID without difficulty so confidence of trunk side setup is high.

I've enabled CLASS in the trunk destcriptor - added 5 seconds before phone rang - No ID
I've enabled ANI/DNIS trunk in COS of trunks - added another 5 seconds of ringing - No ID

I assume you've tried the same. Hope you don't mind if I ride along with your thread.

KwbMitel - Thanks for imput, don't mind you tagging along. That's what these forums are all about.

If a garden varity $60 dect handset can interpret cli from the telco, a main stream Pabx should be able to do the same........Like everything else, is working out how.

No, hadn't looked at trunk descriptor settings....Was a tad rush for time, good area to investigate

cheers

kwbMitel - enable "CLASS trunk" in trunk descriptor form and worked straight up.

The relevant COS settings (My default import settings) are:

Display ANI / ISDN calling number only = yes
Display ANI / DNIS / ISDN called /calling number = yes

Didn't have to adjust ring timers, handset rang immediately

BTW system in question: CXi II / mcd 4.0sp3

Thanks again

@#^%$*&!!!

Why does it work for you and not me?

You're welcome BTW.

Can you swear on the forum....probably not

Oh S.... Not good.

My system is working in Australia, working off primary telco in the country. Licensed up for Australia working.

Dumb questions but woth asking, hopefully not offensive

1/ You definitely have cli being present on the pstn line (confirmed)

2/ CLI on my system is presenting to IP handsets type 5330s only. Similar situation for you or are you also trying to work to analogue handsets. there is additional configuration options to prepare for ONS ports in COS

3/ I'll review COS and see if anything else stands out.

I live by the rule that there are no stupid questions. The only exception being... asking the same question twice and expecting a different answer.

1 - As in your case, CLID was present on the former system with no changes on the trunks since migration.

2 - I am testing with a 5330

3 - Anything is welcome.

Have exported COS for analogue trunks

I use the site yousendit.com.

Try it, you'll like it.

COS for 5330 would be nice too.

Guys

It all depends if the carrier supports CLASS based trunks, that's prob why is working for one and not another

Embedded and ASU analogue trunks only support CLASS for CLI

Had the same issue but the carrier wouldn;t chnage the line

Mitelmatt - Thanks

That makes sense...telcos around the world do implement different protocols and variants of the same thing. EG: ETSI is a good example, ETSI in France is not the same as ETSI protocol utilised in Australia.

MitelMatt - I'm using Embedded AMB on CX controller.

The lines had CLID on prior system. No changes to lines post migration.

Our situations are virtually identical, it should work for both.

jakt99 - Yes you got it right, great way for anonymous or large file emailing.

What I think you might not have got right is the COS of the trunk. You sent me COS 1 named - Standard. It does not have the options I would expect for a LS trunk.

Nothing stands out in the COS of the 5330 with respect to this issue. I would make the following recommendations though.

Recommended Changes:
Call Reroute after CFFM to Busy Destination - set to yes
Ringing Line Select - Set to yes

Optional Changes
Music on Hold on Transfer - Set to no (i'm used to hearing ringback on transfer and so are most people.)

kwb

whilst i agree with you, it may have worked on the old system but the 3300 only supports CLASS based trunks for CLI

That will never chnage with the move to SIP etc. Have already asked

Mitelmatt, reading between the lines I think you are saying that there can be a differerence between CLID as delivered directly to an analog CLID phone and CLASS.

This would be news to me in Canada, but I've already admitted I rarely use analog trunking and never used CLID trunks.

Can you elaborate on the difference?

Returned to site today and all was working on arrival.

very strange.

the Ani/DNIS option in COS is NOT enabled

The CLASS option in the descriptor was enabled.

Can't fix what ain't broke.

Weird......Unless a scheduled reboot or otherwaise sorted the
inconsistancy of operation.

Anyway is working now, so well done.

I checked thru all the logs for anything. Nothing.

Oh well, hopefully I never have to do it again.
