We have an old 3300 ICP running 9.0.0.41. I would like to review/adjust trunk selection order (inbound and outbound). We have 7 analog/POTS trunks. I'm guessing there may be several approaches to trunk selection--I want to adjust ours. In System Configuration > Trunks > Analog Trunks > Loop Start/LS-GS > Trunk Group Assignment, I see:

Trunk Group Number Hunt Mode Comments
1 Terminal MAIN LINES
2 Terminal Back door VM

The "MAIN LINES" group has 7 members (member numbers 1-7) with trunks 1-7 in descending order (so trunk group member 1 is trunk number 7 and so on). From my testing, adjusting the member order for the "MAIN LINES" group adjusts trunk selection for outbound calls. I haven't yet figured out (how to adjust) trunk order for inbound calls. I'm not sure if it's working as desired at the moment, but the general idea is that inbound calls arrive on a given trunk (our main number) and hand off to "lower" trunks in some order, to keep the main number/line open.

Any suggestions welcomed. Thank you!

With analog trunks the inbound order selection is controlled by the Telco. Typically starting at 1 and going up from there

Outbound you typically want to select in the opposite order but it depends on the usage of the trunks.

It is a simple matter to re-arrange the order in the trunk group, it will not affect calls in progress.

I would delete the last 3 (5,6,7)

I would change 1 to 7, 2 to 6 and 3 to 5, then add 3, 2 and 1

Thanks, that info about inbound order selection was helpful. I probably didn't make this clear, but the MAIN LINES Trunk Group members are already ordered descending by trunk number. So member 1 is trunk 7, member 2 is trunk 6, member 3 is trunk 5 and so on.
