I am having 3300 ICP running on 4.1. I upgraded it from 4.0 to 4.1. But I was having some problem with the 4.1 so I decided to do fresh Installation. But since I started the fresh installation it is not coming up. It just keep rebooting itself. I tried to change parameters but none of them had worked. I am now stuck up as I cant log in to ESM. in partition 1 I am having 4.0 and in the partition I am having 4.1. I did all the steps in the mitel technical handbook but it didnt help me. It was giving some error and when it tried to access partition 1 and 4 it was giving error like /partition1/RTC8260...n/a and /partition4/RTC8260 ...n/a.

I tried qefcc parameter and ata=0 but it is not working.

I think my FTP is having some problem as well. Does anyone know how to check FTP service is running or not as I dont know the way to test FTP service. I did steps such as in the command prompt I entered FTP>open>to my laptop's ip> user name:ftp> password : ftp> dir. It was showing files when I did dir command. Do we need to keep open the ftp while installation is running on? Caz I closed it in command prompt. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi did you convert the rel 4.0 to common data before upgrading? (SDS)

If not you need to do this first and then upgrade
Have you tried to change the boot paramters back to /partition1/RTC8260
to see if your release 4.0 install is still there?

As for FTP the windows XP version and above has been locked down by Microsoft and it is a pain to get working
I use a free FTP server on PC Filezillza server
It is much better and once running it shows in realtime what is being transfered to the controller
It does mean that you will have to disable the internal Windows FTP server first and setup an account and home directory but it is very simple and reliable

Thanks for quick response supernova. I did convert 4.0 in SDS and then i did the upgrade. I was able to see the 4.0 in inactive partition1. That is what I tried to do, to get back MCD up and running but it is giving same error I mentioned in my question. It was also showing some other error as well. I am not able to remember it, but I will check it out and let you know that error that might give you some idea to help me out.

For FTP server on PC filezilla I will check it out and I will try to upgrade the version to 4.1 SP3 that might help me out.

If anyone else had same problem and have found the solution then please help me out.

Thank you Supernove for important info. I am in Australia so I am not at my workplace, otherwise I might have told you exact error and result of PC filezilla server.

qefcc??
What is this?
motfcc perhaps?

when you manage to get back on the controller can you post the boot parameters you may have something wrong here (normally the system will not boot up if a parameter is incorrect)

For CX controller it uses qefcc in version 8.0 or letter.

I tried these parametres but still its the same error.

boot device : ata=0
unit number : 0
processor number : 0
file name : /partition4/RTC8260
inet on ethernet (e) : 192.168.0.100:ffffff00
host inet (h) : 192.168.0.57
user (u) : ftp
ftp password (pw) : ftp
flags (f) : 0x0
other (o) : qefcc

Loading /partition4/RTC8260...n/a

Error loading file: errno = 0x380003

When I tried the parameter below

boot device : qefcc
unit number : 0
processor number : 0
host name : bootHost
file name : Boot_Install
inet on ethernet (e) : 192.168.0.100:ffffff00
host inet (h) : 192.168.0.57
user (u) : ftp
ftp password (pw) : ftp
flags (f) : 0x0
other (o) : qefcc

Loading... timeout - retry
Loading...
Error loading file: errno = 0x3c.

Its like this... I dont know how to solve the problem, I am going no where and stuck in the problem. Any help.

Did you install and use the FileZilla FTP software? Is the controller attaching to the FTP server?

Thanks for the heads up on the qefcc on the CXII I have missed that change (I don't touch any CX/CXi's)

One thing to try and I know it maybe a longshot but can you delete every line in the boot paramaters by using the full stop '.' on each and every line then go back and put the parameters back in.
I have seen 'hidden' characters in the boot lines before and by deleting and reprogramming rather than editing has cured this issue.

I've had similar issues when I forget to turn the firewall off on my PC.

Plug a laptop into the same port as the CX is using and try to ftp to your 192.168.0.57 server. If that works, then you'll at least know you can reach the file.
